Tedious Matsito dies

Sungura musician and leader of Ngwenya Brothers band, Tedious Muchapedza Matsito, has died.

He was 48.

The Gede Mwana hit maker  died early Thursday morning at a local hospital after a long illness. 

Matsito suffered a stroke in 2016 and had his leg amputated after suffering another stroke in 2018.

Fellow Sungura musician, Somandla Ndebele, said the late Matsito will a lways be remembered.

Matsito, whose career ran for over two decades became a household name in the 90s with hits such as Nyaradzo,Chakanaka Chakanaka and Manyemwe eMhuru among others.

He is survived by wife and six children.  

The Ngwenya Brothers band was formed in 1985 and featured Matsito’s brothers, the late Albert, Jabulani, Michael and Edward.

Ngwenya Brothers became a household name in the industry and churned out hits including ‘Zvehukomana Nehusikana’, ‘Rudo inzira’ and ‘Nyaradzo’
