SRC feels ICC heat
...Reinstates Zim Cricket board
The Sports and Recreational Committee has been forced to make a major climb down by lifting the suspension which it had imposed on the Tavengwa Mukhuhlani led Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC)
Mukhuhlani’s suspension had caused a storm with the International Cricket Council stepping in to suspend Zimbabwe from global competitions.
In a statement SRC Chairman Gerald Mlotshwa said this is with immediate effect.
“Accordingly, and pursuant to the said Court Order, the SRC hereby lifts the suspension of the Directors of ZC, including that of the Acting Managing Director, with immediate effect. The Interim Committee accordingly ceases to administer the affairs of Zimbabwe Cricket forthwith,” Mlotshwa said.
The ZC board was suspended on June 19 by the SRC citing section 30 of the SRC Act [Chapter 25:15].
