The 23 year-old former Caps United and Denmark’s Hobro IK Football Club player said he was ready to grab the opportunity to play for the Warriors and will give it his all for a Zimbabwe victory come Saturday.

Pfumbidzayi, in good form for Bloemfontein Celtic said: “We can do anything there. Everyone is in higher levels. I have played with the guys before so there is nothing new.”

“It’s a good opportunity to showcase my talent and I will grab it with both hands and do my all,” he said.

Coach Sunday Chidzambwa said he had enough cover to replace Lunga, singling out Pfumbidzayi as an immediate option.

The Warriors first match against DRC is on Saturday in Kinshasa, before hosting the Congolese on Tuesday at the National Sports Stadium.

The team arrived in Kinshasa on Tuesday night, where they are fine tuning their preparations.
