FORMER Dynamos Football Club star Murape Murape has approached the Harare Magistrates’ Civil Court seeking a downward variation of maintenance order for the upkeep of his estranged wife Yvonne and their minor child.
Murape was ordered to pay $100 maintenance in 2010 but now wants the money to be reduced to $40.
The footballer told the court that he is now getting less money as a coach compared to his playing days.
He also told the court that he only earns $400 per month and that he is was also married with four other children to take care of.
However his estranged wife in opposing the application told the court that Murape had failed to disclose his other sources of income. She claimed that Murape runs a football academy at Heritage Primary School in Borrowdale and owns a farm in Chegutu.
Magistrate Nyasha Marufu reserved her ruling to 28 July 2017.
