Former Young Warriors and Harare City Football Club striker Misheck Mburayi has finally been granted bail at the High Court after more than a month in custody.
Mburayi and his two other accomplices are facing charges of posing as traffic police officers in and around Harare’s central business district, where they allegedly fleeced motorists of various amounts of money.
High Court Judge Justice Priscilla Chigumba ordered Mburayi to deposit US$50 with the clerk of court and ordered him to reside at his given address until the matter is finalised.
Mburayi (27) and his alleged accomplices, Munesushe Mazarire (27) and Nevil Munangati (28), were wallowing in remand prison before their lawyer Emmanuel Samndombe successfully applied for bail at the High court.
Their charges include attempted robbery, possession of articles for criminal use and impersonating police officers.
