Chiwenga in China for treatment
Government says Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is in China for further treatment after a high level agreement between the two countries to have him recuperate under the watch of experts from different countries.
Presidential spokesperson George Charamba said the former army boss left for China this week.
"Following last weeks Presidential statement on Vice President CDGN Chiwenga's health and recovery status, the Office of the President and Cabinet wishes to inform the nation that the Vice President this week left for the People's Republic of China where he is set to undergo further medical tests," Charamba said.
"His relocation to China, which builds on the satisfactory recovery progress he has been making, follows weekend discussions at the highest level between governments of Zimbabwe and China, at which a decision was taken to allow Chinese medical experts to join their expert counterparts from Zimbabwe, South Africa and India in attending to the Vice President," Charamba said.
President Emerson Mnangagwa last week said the VP was recovering and was now able to exercise, a sign he was on the recovery path.
